In the heart of Helsinki’s most desirable residential district stands Grand Residence 21, a project that redefines luxury living in Finland. Spanning more than 5,000 m² of accommodation, this historic building, dating back to 1888, has been meticulously restored to honour its architectural heritage while embracing modern elegance. Today, it is recognised as one of the most prestigious developments in Helsinki.
Preserving History
The essence of Grand Residence 21 lies in its uncompromising commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Every detail reflects respect for the building’s unique history, ensuring that its character remains intact while offering contemporary comfort. This philosophy guided every design decision, from structural restoration to interior finishes.
Durability for Generations
Among the defining elements of this transformation is the choice of flooring - a feature that sets the tone for the entire interior experience. The floors needed to complement the property’s exclusive aesthetic while delivering durability for generations to come. For this reason, Hørning, renowned for our “Floors For Generations”, became the natural choice.
We supplied three distinct solid wood floor designs: Classic Herringbone, Whalebone, and Chevron.
Crafted from premium oak, these patterns embody timeless elegance and precision. Together, they cover 3,000 m² of the residence, creating a seamless dialogue between tradition and modernity.
These quality wooden floors not only enhance the grandeur of the interiors but also promise longevity, ensuring that both current and future residents enjoy a surface that withstands time without compromising beauty.
Architect and design
Designed by Jani Prunnila and Joarc Architects on the interior design, Grand Residence 21 exemplifies how thoughtful collaboration between architects and designers can elevate a project beyond expectations. Every flooring solution was carefully coordinated to align with the architectural vision, reinforcing the property’s luxurious identity.
