Agnes Cultural Centre
The building
Agnes Cultural Centre is located in the heart of Gävle, on the site of the former city library. It borders Slottstorget, the Gavleån river, Gamla Gefle, the town hall and the castle. The building responds to its surroundings with varied heights that reflect the lower wooden houses of Gamla Gefle and the taller, more modern structures around Slottstorget.
With rounded corners and multiple entrances, the centre invites natural movement throughout the space. Its golden façade and large glass sections give the building a distinct character and allow passers-by to see what’s happening inside.
Choice of floor solution
Given the high daily footfall and demanding use, Solid Line was selected for Agnes Cultural Centre – a durable and practical flooring solution designed to last for years.
The choice was based on three key parameters: installation, maintenance and durability. The floor requires no levelling and is easy to install, making it ideal for a project where time and efficiency are crucial.
The solid wood flooring was treated with a Rubio Monocoat surface finish, making it resistant to dirt, pressure marks and everyday wear. This ensures the floor retains its appearance and functionality – even in heavily used areas.
