Sara Cultural Centre
The building
Sara Cultural Centre is an award‑winning cultural venue that attracts great interest, as it is constructed entirely from wood. Located in Skellefteå, Sweden, the building is one of the tallest timber structures in the world. It opened in 2021 and brings together a theatre, library, gallery, schools, and a hotel – all housed within an environmentally friendly wooden structure. Named after the author Sara Lidman, the building showcases pioneering sustainable architecture by using locally sourced timber to reduce its CO₂ footprint, while serving as a vibrant cultural hub.
Choice of floor solution
Sara Cultural Centre welcomes many visitors every day, making it essential to choose a flooring solution capable of withstanding heavy foot traffic. In harmony with the building’s timber construction, our robust and durable Industrial Parquet ash flooring was the ideal choice for this highly frequented cultural meeting point. By combining strength with an attractive design, our floors ensure long‑lasting performance while maintaining their aesthetic appeal, making them the perfect solution for such a dynamic space.
